Episode 4: Adventures with Charity Joy

A shift of perspective and on my way to Maine for another great journey of being in the moment. I knew in my mind I was meeting with my friend, Lisa, and we had a workshop, Ecstatic Dance and Breathwork and beyond that I wanted to venture to see the faerie magic and houses of Maine. Ready set go. Even when we may not think we are ready we are so ready. Isn’t life amazing.

Faerie Castles

Upon arrival to Maine I was greeted with the most local strawberry shortcake that Lisa made, she is an amazing chef and wow what a welcome. With that going down the hatch pretty fast and hitting the sweet spot, Lisa and I headed out for a walk with Riley the cutest dog. We wondered through the neighborhood in Portland Maine, and low and behold they were setting up the Maine Yoga Fest. We popped in to check it out and the next thing you know we are hanging lanterns from the tents on 12 foot ladders. Just a little karma yoga to start my trip off in Maine. We continued on our walk and grabbed some dinner overlooking the water.

A beautiful bike ride through the city to meander Saturday’s farmers market which is absolutely amazing. The vendors and people were so easy going and kind. I couldn’t help but notice the mini faerie island the ducks lived on. How lucky are they?

This was just the beginning of the faerie magical journey.

Macworth Island Maine, a place that has been preserved for decades for fairy houses, and those who are looking to add to the houses with nature items from the woods. We found kids and adults as ourselves giggling with joy as we jumped in the water, explored the houses and had a princess picnic in the woods.

I had read about this place in the Faerie Handbook, and knew I must visit. I also read about Monhegan Island just off the coast of Maine, where the spirit of the faeries were definitely around. You know when you are just exactly where you are supposed to be and everything just lines up? This was it. My friend, Lisa, and I held a workshop, Ecstatic Dance and Breathwork on a gorgeous Elderberry farm with a beautiful group.

Jumping for Joy after our workshop!

Lisa invited me to join her in south Bristol, another beautiful place surrounded by water in Maine. I was booked for a few Thai Yoga Massages and then off we went to their house on the water. Magical forest walks, and discovering the area it felt absolutely wonderful to be here.

Monhegan Island was next on the journey. An hour ferry ride to the stunning island, where artists come to paint and be. Tourists hike the island, eat seafood, and drink Maine beverages. My choice of drink was the Maine blueberry soda after I had half circumnavigated the island. With a little sugar kick I continued on to discover the fairie houses and the breathtaking cliff views of the island.

A friend who used to help with boats on the island, told a local about me and the guy Chris recognized me with my heart sunglasses and shouted my name as I was walking. He is 9th generation Monhegan and said if I needed any local advice not to hesitate to reach out. Like I mentioned before being where I’m meant to be at all times. This island felt magical and special. I know I will return again. For now it was time to head south to Long Island, but not before one more amazing sunset in the kayak and sunrise on the paddle board in the beautiful land of Maine.

One stop in Rhode Island on my friends boat and then a ferry ride back to Long Island to work with clients and play with more amazing friends. Wow how did I get so lucky to be in this body.

Thanks for reading and I look forward to sharing my next adventure as this beautiful summer continues……
