Charity Joy and Mountain Cappi Cottage Retreats invites you to a one-of-a-kind, 4-DAY Voluntourism Yoga Retreat on the amazing and beautiful island of Dominica. This is an opportunity for you to visit the Nature Island, which in September 2017 was hit by category-5 Hurricane Maria. Just a few months later, Nature is well on her way to recovering and many business places and tourist sites have reopened. But there is still a very long way to go. The resilience of nature and the people here is extraordinary, and yet they need the energy from conscious visitors to keep the vibes up and the optimism strong.

We invite you to volunteer within the communities and nurture yourself by giving back, as well as gifting yourself the nature paradise that will surround you. Unwind and let go of barriers. Here in the magically resilient island of Dominica anything is possible, as long as you are willing to be strong, flexible and ask questions to allow the universe to show you the way!

Body Movement Facilitator and conscious creator, Charity JOY Robinson, with over a decade of experience will guide you through yoga, mindful movement and meditation sessions twice daily to keep your body nurtured and revitalized. Also a short introduction to thai yoga massage will take place on one afternoon. Charity encourages you to listen and commune with your body through tools and techniques that will bring more joy to your world.

Mountain Caapi Cottage is a secluded retreat, on the edge of the Rainforest and just 20 minutes from the capital of Roseau. This lush, 3-acre property has a large Pool, Hot Tub, River, Waterfall, extensive Fruit Gardens, and Ethnobotanical Gardens, and jaw-dropping mountain views of the Caribbean Sea. Caapi Cottage was spared from the worst impacts of the hurricane and has been receiving rave reviews since it re-opened in December 2017. The property is off-grid, powered by micro-hydro and solar energy. Unique "glamping-style" tent cabins on spacious wood decks overlooking the river or waterfall create a unique and protected immersive experience. All cabins have Queen beds, electricity and private decks with amazing views. Hot water showers. Cell service throughout the property. Common spaces also include a covered yoga shala with an ocean view, and covered stone veranda for outdoor dinning.

Supporting her joy of movement and being, is her core philosophy and sentiment:

“Balance is the key in everything you do”

  • Dance all night and practice yoga the next day.
  • Drink wine but don’t forget your green juice.
  • Eat chocolate when your heart wants it and kale salad when your body needs it.
  • Wear high heels on a Saturday and walk barefoot on Sunday.
  • Move and stay still.
  • Embrace all sides of who you are and want to be.
  • Be brave, bold, and spontaneous and let that complement your abilities to find silence, patience, modesty, and peace.
  • Aim for balance, and try and follow your own path.
  • Listen to what is light and truthful to you.”
